People Pleasers

I think that the world is made up of two different kinds of people...The Self-Centereds...they're the ones who speak their mind and assume that everyone is going to agree with them, and anyone who doesn't agree with them must be a jerk...and... The People Pleasers...they're the ones who want everyone to like them and they don't like confrontation. Instead, they'd rather remain quiet about what they really think, or feel, so that no one will hate them or think that they're a jerk.

Sometimes, I feel like such a jerk.

why can't I just be in the middle?

I'm with Jodi I think. I suppose it depends on who it is and how I really feel about a situation.

Sometimes I have no problem telling a person off and other times I come home and whine about it for hours.

Usually I just remember that "people will treat you how you let them." And "dont worry about what someone thinks about you because usually they aren't."

WELL, I think.... oh wait, that's not right?

SO, Whatever you want me to think....no, that's no it either.

I'm not going to say a word about this post because I don't want to step on anyone's toes so I'm just going to back out slowly and go back to my blog and put on some tunes to drown on the neighbours that have been fighting for the last hour. Because they have been doing this for the last 3 weeks... sigh. Yep, that's the type of person I am... I am a jelly fish. I hate confrontations. I want people to like me. But really, what did it do for me. Nothing... I get screwed everytime. But I keep doing... it's as if I'm addicted... bah.

What if I don't like confrontation, speak my mind, and don't care what others think of me? Does that just make me a woman?

I'm glad that Elle thought the song was good.

DD says it's her #2 favorite.

I am such a people pleaser! I wish I could speak up for myself more!

Jodi - I think you can be, but I believe the core of who we are usually falls into one of these two categories.

Renee - I can definitely stick up for myself (ie: letters of complaint), but often I find that, face to face, I prefer to remain quiet in a situation, rather than speak up with the opposing view.

Meno - Exactly!

Michele - That's it. Sometimes I just remain quiet instead of speaking my mind. I think it's the cowards way out, but I just don't like confrontation.

Ms. Chica - That makes you my hero:~) It's the not caring what others think about me, that I need lessons on.

Renee - I'm not sure if she gets the 'higher' meaning.

Kelly Malloy - Welcome to the club.
