Sleep Away Camp

Twelve is going to sleep-away camp. I will be driving her there today, and will pick her up next Saturday. It's a loooooong drive each way, but oh so worth it.

Twelve went to the same camp last summer. It is through the church that we belong to, and is similar to the weekend retreat that I recently went on. I know that she will return calmer and more centered (as opposed to self-centered). She requested that I put a countdown timer on my blog, and helped me pick this one out.

The house will feel quiet with her gone. Ten will have no one to argue with and I am sure that he will miss her. I will too.

I'm hoping Twelve has an awesome time at camp...I know she will. I'll miss her too so I'm glad it's only one week. And tell her she created one very cool countdown timer.

I love the countdown timer too!
You are getting daughter into blogging at an early age. ;-)

I know you'll miss her, but don't forget to take advantage of her absence and recharge yourself. It might be a good opportunity for a little mother son time too.

Great countdown ticker thingie. I loved going to camp at her age. I think i kind of miss it. Well, except for the bugs.

Joan - I told her.

Patti - I'll let Twelve know. She's not blogging...just infringing on mine.

Patches - Ten is so excited to have time with just the two of us...I am too.

Meno - Twelve isn't too excited about the bugs at camp...she tends to scream whenever she sees one...at least, maybe that'll help keep the bears away.

I am sure 12 will have a great time at camp. You are right, 10 will have no one to fight with.

Poor Amber will have all his attention and energy!!!!!!

I've always missed our kids when they weren't around...Even our oldest in College, I'm happy she is home for the summer now, but it was hard to adjust when she started college. If you miss your children when they are not there, , it means to me that you have a very close family relationship...and there is nothing better than that!

That is a nifty countdown timer thingy. How are you holding up so far Lynn? Sorry I'm a little late posting...

Ralph - I couldn't agree more!

Michele - So far, so good. Last year was much harder for me than this year, because she had never been to sleep-away camp before. Since I know that she had a fabulous time last year...I don't have the 'worried whether or not she's having a good time' aspect. Thanks for asking.
