Ten, one of his friends (not Slugger), Twelve and I went to our community pool this afternoon. (The community pool certainly seems to be providing fodder for my blog.) As we approached the pool we heard many voices and correctly figured out that there were other kids at the pool (yeah).
Turned out, the other kids were girls from his class last year. One of them was having a birthday party. All the girls were saying ‘Hi Ten’ (in that sing song way ten year old girls will talk), and smiling at him. Ten started blushing and looked quite embarrassed.
I’m thinking this is just the beginning.

Well at least they thought he was cute enough to say hi to...much better than them not saying hi.
There was this girl in my little brother's class who liked him...lots. Don't know how she got his phone number but she would call us a lot.
Your summer sounds like it is going so well and you guys are having so much fun. Flirty girls, stollen rings, and crazy teens aside- spending days at the pool with the kids, evenings at the yogurt shop-good for you. Mine goes back to school tomorrow.
I can just imagine how embarrassed Ten was with all that female attention. Tell him to get accustomed to it...it's only going to get a heck of a lot worse in the next few years!
Ha! This makes me giggle for some reason. So cute.
I love the pool stories. You could start a chronicle of sorts!
that laughing you hear is Auntie Evelyn who is probably in shock that the little girl she adored has a son old enough to attract attention. 10 is really cute (especially his wonderful dimples). You might as well get used to it Lynn. It's only the beginning.
Hehehe... damn I love this blog... but seriously, I would be flattered by the attention these girls game Ten. I know I would be...!
Renee - It was cute to watch Ten's reaction to the attention.
Marsha - When you put it that way, it does sound like we are having a great summer. Mine go back to school the end of this month, and then (boo hoo) I have to go back to work.
Joan - I've told him that in a few years, he will like the attention...he doesn't believe me.
Arm - It really is cute. I guess my blog is a chronicle, of sorts.
The Moose Buyer - Yes it is.
Michele - I would have been flattered too, but then I am not a ten year old boy.
He must have that certain something with the ladies, Lynn....
Aawww, now I know your son has dimples.
And he got his dimples from his mom?
Patti - He definitely takes after his father.
Ralph - Both Ten and Twelve have dimples, and they get them from their dad.
You can attribute it to the pool, but I suspect It's just the ages of your kids. At least you had a reprieve until age ten.....yeah it can start way earlier.
Patches - "It can start way earlier", is that is cat years?
The fun is only just beginning! You will never be at a loss for things to blog about!
;-)
Pam - Then I better hold onto my hat;~)
