It's Not Really a Movie about a Hair Product

Now for some levity. Today, while Ten was at camp, I took Twelve and my mother to see Hairspray.

My review: If you're looking for a happy-feel-good movie, and like musicals, then this is definitely a movie that you would want to see.

Twelve's review: "It was too happy...but I want to see it again."

My elderly mother's review: "My foot was tapping during the movie."

So there you have it. Three generations of female movie-goers all give Hairspray a thumbs up.

Exactly what did Twelve mean when she said that the movie was "too happy?" And, let's face it, mom's foot taps whenever there's lively music. But that's OK...I like too happy, foot tapping musicals too!

The original movie was released in 1988, I'm surprised they're producing another one in less twenty years.

A movie with Travolta, I'll take a pass. Thanks for watching it so I don't have to though.

I love musicals. I always have and unlike Egan I am a fan of John Travolta's musicals. I can still see him bouncing down the street with the paint cans in Saturday night Fever and Grease is still one of my favorites.

Joan - She meant that everyone in the movie was always happy and smiling.

Ms. Chicca - Ah, but they marketed it to the current generation.

Egan - Glad I could help you out. John Travolta was definitely not a pretty woman! The movie was very entertaining, I think that the Mrs. would enjoy it.

Renee - If DD liked High School Musical, she would like this movie.

Only Oldest - You should definitely see this one!

Lynn, thanks for the review. I would like to see this.
I am also planning on seeing The Simpsons as soon as it comes out. We haven't seen any movies in a while.

Patti - Movies have become so expensive ($8.50 for the 'bargain matinee) that it almost makes more sense to just wait for the DVD.

yes, but at home I fall asleep in no time..then I see no movie

Patti - I would be surprised if you fell asleep watching this movie. You could always sit in your uncomfortable computer chair, that ought to keep you awake. lol

I love the musical Hairspray - I really do! But I don't know about Travolta...I'm a Harvey Fierstein fan. And he did that part so perfectly...

But I'll probably still watch it!
