I Wasted A Perfectly Good Day

I woke up this morning and decided that I was too tired to go to work. I had lots of dreams last night and they affected my sleep. Unfortunately my alarm had gone off, and I had to go to the bathroom. (not sure why those two go together, but they do) While I was in the bathroom, I decided I might as well take a shower, since it was right there. After my shower, I figured that I might as well get dressed.

Went downstairs (still determined not to go to work today) so that I could fix lunch for Ten and Twelve, which I did. Sat at the computer for a little while and checked out blogland. Then it was the time that I normally leave for work, and I was already dressed and ready to go...so I did.

What a waste of a perfectly good day!

looks like you need to try harder on playing hookey from work.

I wake up having to go to the bathroom in the morning too...usually about 3 min before the alarm is due to go off.

I also need a larger bladder.

Keep on trying to avoid work. someday you'll succeed!

Doesn't it suck being responsible sometimes? I swear. My friend and I do the same thing every Wednesday afternoon before we have to go to class. We sit in her apartment saying "we aren't going to go tonight." But then 5:30 rolls around and there we are getting in our cars to drive to the campus.

Renee - I have 95 full paid sick days accrued...you'd think I'd be able to take one of them without any guilt!

Meno - My parents instilled in me a work ethic...I have a hard time ignoring it. The one subject where I didn't hear "blah, blah, blah".

Arm - Yes it does! I do it with my Wednesday night pilates class...only often I don't go.

You totally wanted to play the Wii instead of working. I see its powers are very strong and already corrupting an otherwise very nice person. Damn those video games.

You have a tremendous work ethic. Really, it is harder to not go to work than to go. With the wheelchair, I had been out of work a while...and days like that are no fun, so when this opportunity arose...I'd rather have a place to hang my hat that's not at home. Congrats on your decision...

I hate when that happens... and yet I wish it would happen with certain areas in my life, like exercising. "Well, I'm awake and the elliptical torture machine is down in the basement. Might as well use it."

LOL! It sounds just like something I would do IF I had a job!

Boy that Homer gets around. Now he is responding to blog posts while at work. Hmmmmmm....

I agree you made the right decision.
Now you don't feel guilty, right?

Egan - How right you are...were you inside my brain?

Ralph - Thanks for your support. It did work out better that I went to work.

Pam - Yeah, I seem to have no trouble avoiding the exercising.

Judi - I remember when Ten and Twelve were little and I was home with them...there were some days I would wake up and think to myself, gee, I wish I could go to work today.

Patti - Homer is clearly able to multi-task ;~) I will agree that I made the right decision, and now I don't feel guilty. But a day off...that could have been nice.

re: dishwasher...Nope! They stopped making them that way so they could charge more I think...it's more expensive for some colors.

Nah, I think it's years of game playing to know the mindset.

Renee - Isn't that weird that some colors are more expensive? I mean how much more money can it cost to make one color paint than another?

Egan - It's good to know that someone understands the draw of game playing.
