Hear My Voice

There must be something critically wrong with my voice. I just can't figure out why I must repeat something at least 3 times with increasing volume before Twelve and Ten are able to hear me. What confounds me is that when I am out in the "real world", or even at work, everyone seems to hear me just fine! I don't have to raise my voice at all! It must be the acoustics in my home and car. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? This has me completely perplexed!

you know it's just amazing how I remember your mother saying the same thing when she spoke to you at age 12 and Auntie E complaining when I was 12. Must be something hereditary doncha think??

The technical term for this is Hormonally Induced Deafness Syndrome. Or HIDS.

This applies to spouses too. The difference is fifteen minutes after repeating item, the spouse repeats what you vocalized prior, and presents it as an entirely *new* thought.

Only oldest - Did you just say something??? lol

Meno - At certain times of the month, I think I have a mutation of this syndrome called HIBS...Hormonally Induced B*tchiness Syndrome. I think that Twelve has it too! lol

Patches - Isn't that just the truth! Wonder if it's some "gift" embedded on the 'y' chromosome, since it appears to be universal.

All children acquire this talent, don't they?

And I'm sick and can't talk so it bugs me because I can hardly say things in the first place, let alone five times. Aye!

Sari - Unfortunately, I think they do...Despite what "Only Oldest" said, I think that Ten and Twelve acquired this particular talent from their father.
